The Book of Genesis 1:26 declares; “God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

What amazing thing did God make when He made us? And what power has He given to His human?

The word image here means; “the created to reflect the Creator”. It’s like the moon reflecting the light of the sun. The moon can look so full of light as you stare up into the sky on a cloudless night, but it’s only reflecting the light of the sun. In the same way, God’s idea is that we reflect His light to those around us. It’s His light in us. Awesome.

The phrase here, “in our likeness” means, “to operate or function the same way”. You and I are created to function like God does. God functions by faith! You and I are created to function by faith! If your not functioning like God, you are malfunctioning! When you can see what God does, then you know what you can do because you were created to function like Him.

Now this is very interesting. In this same verse of scripture God says, Let’s make man. The word man here is the Hebrew word for spirit. It is the word; “Ish” translated spirit or breath. We have called it man. Man is a spirit being, so that makes sense. What is a human anyway? A spirit in a dirt body! The word “human itself comes from two words, humus and ish. Humus means dirt or earth, and man is “ish” or spirit. You and I became known as Humus Man. Now we have shortened it to Human! The idea is that God took the ish and put it in Humus! So in making man, God makes us a spirit in a dirt body. And He gives all dominion or ruler ship to a spirit in a dirt body, or His man.

Over the years I have gained much insight into why many Christians and other religious people never walk in the peace, joy and freedom that is available for them. It is not because they haven’t experienced God’s grace of salvation. No their problem isn’t in their spirit but in the soul, in their mind. Their mind hasn’t been reprogrammed. They have a new spirit that has been recreated, but the same old mind that hasn’t changed its thinking. If this sounds like your experience then I want you to take hope right now

You have a destiny to be conformed to the image of Jesus and you can get there. You can walk in the freedom of God’s abundant, blessed life that has been created you for. If you will take the time to allow the Holy Spirit to work with you and through you by replace old thinking with new thinking, I believe you will manifest growth spiritually, mentally, physically, financially, and socially.

While I know that we could never improve upon what Jesus has done for us in His finished work of the cross, we can learn how to “work out our own salvation” in a successful lifestyle that honors God and blesses you.

Very early in the first years of this new life I came across a principle that summed up the next few years and really the rest of my life. This verse compelled me to reshape, rebuild, and renew everything I had previously believed and thought. Here it is:

“Don’t just adapt to the culture of this present age, but be transformed, be changed, by rethinking everything…” Romans 12:2 KBV

For over 35 years my quest has been to RETHINK everything that concerns my life and my success. I have found new patterns of though that when meditated on has brought new ways to think. And my progress and success hasn’t been unique.

I have also found that most folks are just like I was in that they don’t like some area of their life but also feel unable to do anything about it. I have met thousands of people just like you and me that have also changed their thinking and changed their life through the process of RETHINK! Today is your day to RETHINK everything!
