Faith Notes:The Deceptive Power of Deception!

Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32 NLV
Knowing the TRUTH sets us free! Only power that Satan has is DECEPTION!
Worst thing about deception is that you don't know you're being deceived. Once the truth is received, deception loses all its power. Therefore, Satan loses all his power when we know the truth.
Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Heb. 2:14 NLV
Satan has already been defeated. We simply enforce it. We don't need to defeat him again.
Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Eph. 6:11 NKJ
Our battle is against his trickery, not the devil himself!
We give Satan power when we believe his lies! Warfare only takes place between two undefeated foes. Once an enemy has been conquered, the war is over. Satan is a defeated foe. Many Christians have missed the parade!

Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Col 2:15 NKJ
Let's look at three words in this verse of scripture to better understand what the Apostle Paul was talking about.
The 1st word "disarmed" here means "to plunder; despoil". After Jesus defeated Satan, He stripped him of everything he had, specifically the keys of death and hell according to Revelation 1:18. In other words, Satan has no power to imprison anyone!
Our 2nd word is "spectacle" and it means; "to exhibit"; or "to show a specimen". I want you to picture the devil impaled like a bug on display. Remember biology class?
And our last word here is "triumphing" and it means, "to walk a victorious procession" This is referring to the ways of the Romans... After conquering an enemy, the Romans would hold a parade. The conquered king was striped naked, and drug through the crowd behind the conquering king for all to see. They would also cut off the thumbs and big toes, so this enemy would never be a threat again. He could not hold a sword and he would never be able to run again. There was no need to fear him any more. Any rumor about him ever challenging Rome again would be scoffed at because the citizens had seen him in the parade.
Unfortunately, many Christians have missed the parade, AND are circulating rumors that Satan is still a powerful foe! We do have to deal with Satan... BUT it's the lies! If we believe his lies, we give him our own authority, through fear; to work his destruction in our lives. When the fear is gone, so is their power!
Praise God, Declare right now; "No weapon of the deceiver can hurt me ever again! Jesus has defeated the enemy, and I walk in His great victory!"
Enjoy Jesus' finished work my friend!
